The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost another role player to injured reserve, as Greg Schiano said today that Jonathan Casillas would likely be placed on injured reserve and would have to undergo surgery after suffering a knee injury on Sunday. Casillas had won the starting strongside linebacker role a few weeks ago after splitting it with Dekoda Watson for most of the season. Casillas is a free agent next season, which makes this some horrible timing for him.
Dekoda Watson is likely to step in for Casillas, although rookie Ka'Lial Glaud or veteran Adam Hayward could play the position as well. The Bucs don't have their strongside linebacker on the field a lot, so this shouldn't present huge issues.
Greg Schiano also noted that Darrelle Revis should be able to play through the chest injury he suffered on Sunday, which caused him to miss most of the second half against the Panthers. It was the second straight game Revis had to leave the field with an injury, and he seemed limited by his groin injury in that game.
