Jeff Demps to injured reserve, Bucs claim S Bradley McDougald

A few roster moves for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed wide receiver/running back Jeff Demps on injured reserve, and have claimed safety Bradley McDougald off waivers to replace him. McDougald went undrafted out of Kansas this year has played in one game for the Kansas City Chiefs this year.

Jeff Demps looked like a potentially explosive weapon this year, but he managed just three carries and one catch before suffering a now-season-ending injury. Demps has struggled to stay healthy in his NFL career, while also missing multiple offseason due to his track and field commitments. We'll see whether Demps can contribute something next year.

The Bucs have some issues at safety, with Keith Tandy looking disastrous against the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. Dashon Goldson should return next week, which will mitigate the problem, but depth would still be an issue. Perhaps McDougald can make an impact on the field.
