Monday Night Football Inactives: Dashon Goldson plays for Bucs, Dimitri Patterson out for Dolphins

The inactives for tonight's game are in.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have safety Dashon Goldson against the Miami Dolphins tonight, which should help get their struggling defense back on track. The Buccaneers started Keith Tandy the past two games, but he was a liability in both run and pass defense.

As expected, the Buccaneers will miss guard Carl Nicks and wide receiver Chris Owusu tonight, which will hurt their defense. Undrafted rookie Skye Dawson is likely to take Owusu's place, while Jamon Meredith will get his second consecutive start in place of Carl Nicks. Mike James starts at running back with Doug Martin on injured reserve. Undrafted rookie linebacker Ka'lial Glaud is also active for the first time. One surprise inactive is cornerback Danny Gorrer, who struggled in his first game back last week.

For the Dolpins, cornerback Dimitri Patterson is the most significant inactive player. Linebacker Koa Misi is also out, with Jason Trusnik getting the start. Nolan Carroll will start for Koa Misi. They'll also miss Jonathan Martin and suspended Richie Incognito, of course.
