The Atlanta Falcons will have to miss their best wide receiver in Julio Jones for the rest of the season, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter. This feels like the twentieth significant injury for the 1-4 Falcons, who have placed Kroy Biermann, Mike Johnson and Sean Weatherspoon on injured reserve and have seen Asante Samuel, Steven Jackson and Roddy White miss significant time as well.
It's been a quick fall from grace for the Falcons, who found themselves in the NFC Championship game last season. The offensive line, which has been an issue for them for years, has apparently collapsed as they're forced to start Jeremy Trueblood at right tackle.
In all, this is pretty awful news for the Falcons (and any of Julio Jones' fantasy owners, not to mention Jones himself), but that makes it good news for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs are 0-4, but a win on Sunday could now vault them into second place in the division, with both the Falcons and Panthers apparently in a downward spiral.
