Michael Vick Injury: Eagles quarterback expected to miss Buccaneers game

Michael Vick is not expected to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which means Nick Foles gets his second start against the Bucs.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a hamstring injury, according to Adam Schefter. Vick suffered the injury in their game against the New York Giants, but Nick Foles came in to finish off that game and lead the Eagles to victory.

Foles should start the game against the Bucs as well, which should make Tampa Bay a little uncomfortable. Foles went 1-5 as a starter filling in for Vick in 2012, with the one victory coming against the Buccaneers. The Bucs lost that game on a literal last-second touchdown to Jeremy Maclin, with then-rookie cornerback Leonard Johnson failing to contain the receiver on a sprint-out pass.

This year, the Bucs defense should be much better equipped to handle the Eagles' passing game, as the Bucs appear to have one of the best defenses in the NFL after the addition of Darrelle Revis, Johnthan Banks and Dashon Goldson this offseason. Fittingly, the Tampa Bay passing game has now declined and with rookie Mike Glennon getting his second career start it may not be getting any better.

The Buccaneers and Eagles face off on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM ET.
