NFL Week 8 Picks - DLT's Deadlocks

DLT came crashing back down to earth with a horrible 7-8 week. Can he recover?

Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE

Oh my...one week you're higher than a Josh Freeman overthrow, the next week your lower than a Schiano shoe.

Well, I spit the bed last week, going 7-8 and 0-2 on my upset specials (I guess one of these days I'll learn not to mock the odds makers - oh and Thanks, Chicago - nice effort.)

Doesn't get much worse than that...unless you watch Monday Night Football or the Jaguars every week.

This week though, it's all about turnarounds. I need to turn it around, so do a lot of NFL teams.

Who will? Who won't? Who cares?

Well, I do...

Last Week: 7-8 47% Upset Specials: 0-2 0%

Season: 68-41 62%  Upset Specials:  5-7 42%

Byes: Bears, Titans, Colts, Chargers, Ravens, Texans

Thursday Night

Panthers 27, Buccaneers 6 - Ah, my fond memories of the pre-season. When I expected the Panthers to be 0-6 and the Bucs to be 3-3 or better at this point. Derp.

Sunday

Upset Special: Cowboys 20, Lions 13 - I have to admit, I'm slowly coming around to believing in the Cowboys. Either that or I'm itching to watch Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow as Tonto in the Lone Ranger again.

Chiefs 27, Browns 16 - The unbeaten Chiefs need to watch out for the trap game against an up and coming Browns team.

Patriots 26, Dolphins 16 - The Mammals continue their downward spiral while the Pats get back on track.

Saints 30, Bills 20 - Someone called Sirius NFL Radio and said the Bills would win this game because "No one circles the wagons..." yada yada yada. Well, No one throws touchdown passes like Drew Brees.

Eagles 40, Giants 13 - The high octane Chip Kelly offense was humbled by the Dallas Cowboys. No such issues against the G-men.

49ers 23, Jaguars 2 - Normally, I'd pick the East Coast team at home against the West Coast team...except when that East coast team is Jacksonville.

Bengals 27, Jets 20 - Two sneaky good teams do battle in the Queen city. I like the Bungles at home.

Upset Special #2: Raiders 23, Steelers 16 - Could the Steelers be turning it around? Nope.

Broncos 50, Redskins 20 - The Broncos tasted the bitter yuckiness of defeat for the first time this season. Peyton, yo mad, bro?

Cardinals 17, Falcons 13 - The Falcons are back baby! Or...they just played the Bucs.

Sunday Night

Packers 30, Vikings 10 - At least Ponder can get it near the broadside of the barn.

Monday Night

Seahawks 27, Rams 6 - The Rams called Brett Favre to see if he'd still be interested in playing football. He said no. That's how far the Rams have fallen. I hear Tim Tebow's available...
