The Atlanta Falcons are having a pretty good day so far. They've score two touchdowns and saw a third deep drive end with a field goal. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are struggling to stop the Atlanta offense despite the fact that they have almost no weapons. Matt Ryan is having fun picking apart the Tampa Bay defense, which is alternately playing zone or having Revis cover undrafted rookies fresh off the practice squad rather than 140-receiving-yards-Harry-Douglas. Which is why they're looking at a 24-7 lead.
Lavonte David is at least the bright spot so far. He has nine tackles, three of them for loss, and a pass breakup to go with it. At this point that seems to be the only positive, although Vincent Jackson sure has made some plays in the second half too, including a beautiful, one-handed 59-yard catch. Mike Glennon again looked a little improved over last week. He's generally made good decisions, although his ball placement leaves something to be desired.
The Bucs aren't out of this game yet and they could grab a win here, but it's starting to look grim.
Here's your third quarter open thread.
