Greg Schiano and Mark Dominik had to convince the Glazers to let Josh Freeman walk, according to veteran sports writer Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune (via JoeBucsFan). They had to point to the fact that Freeman missed meetings to justify his being released, though it would seem that Freeman's play would be justification enough.

We never really do get a good view of how involved the Glazers are with the Bucs, although we do know they were heavily involved with the coaching search that got them Greg Schiano. They may get involved at the end of the season if they let Greg Schiano go, too.

The fact that Schiano and Dominik had to convince the Glazers to let Freeman go should tell us one thing: if Freeman is a success elsewhere, the Glazers are going to pin losing a potential franchise quarterback firmly on Schiano's and Dominik's shoulders. And that could mean the end for both of them.
