Freeman will get to go against the New York Giants' defense, which is of course significantly worse than the three he faced with the Bucs. The Vikings signed him when Tampa Bay released him after an ugly saga and something that resembled a PR war.
Whether or not Freeman looks good with the Vikings, he had steadily regressed as a quarterback with the Bucs and it was time for them to move on. Freeman's mechanical flaws likely won't be fixed, but perhaps Minnesota will help him find some easy throws to open receiver, something the Bucs refused to do for some reason.
If history teaches us something, it's that quarterbacks who leave the Bucs after being promoted as the franchise guy go on to win Super Bowls. So, that should make 1-4 Minnesota optimistic.
