Buccaneers - Redskins Fantasy Sit/Start Advice: RGIII, Alfred Morris and others

Who do you need to start and who do you need to sit tomorrow? Some fantasy advice on Robert Griffin III, Alfred Morris, Vincent Jackson and others.

Paul Frederiksen-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Fantasy's pretty big in football land, and we all want to know who we should sit and start on our fantasy teams. We want that advice to feel good about our choices - and to be able to point to someone else when we inevitably lose our matchups. I'm more than happy to be the scapegoat for all your losses this week, so here's some sit/start advice!

Start:

QB Robert Griffin III - As if you need this advice. There's no way you should be sitting him, but when he comes up against the worst pass defense in the league (by total yards), that's a pretty good indication you should start him. RGIII should go off for over 300 yards this week, but the Bucs have been pretty good about limiting rushing by quarterbacks and keeping receivers out of the endzone. He'll likely throw a few interceptions, too, so you could consider benching him in a league that's heavy on touchdowns and punishes interceptions harshly.

WR Vincent Jackson - I don't trust Josh Freeman in fantasy, but Vincent Jackson should be a solid start. The Redskins have given up more pass yards than all but one team in the NFL, and they've given up more passing touchdowns than anyone else. And it's not like they've faced powerhouse quarterbacks: Andy Dalton and Sam Bradford are hardly top of the line, but both had big games against the Redskins. Vincent Jackson should be the primary beneficiary of the Redskins awful secondary, if Freeman can get him the ball.

WR Leonard Hankerson - Pierre Garcon and Brandon Banks are both questionable, and Leonard Hankerson has been the main beneficiary of that absence. He's become the Redskins' deep threat, and should continue to put up numbers against a shaky Bucs pass defense.

Sit:

RB Alfred Morris - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the best run defense in the NFL by almost any measure: yards per carry allowed (2.3) and total yards allowed (142), while they've allowed 2 rushing touchdowns. It's not like their opponents can't run the ball, either, as the Panthers, Giants and Cowboys did just fine against other teams. Alfred Morris has been a solid start so far, but the Bucs don't want anyone to run the ball on them, and it's not likely that the Redskins are going to start.

RB Doug Martin - The Redskins have a pretty stout run defense but more importantly, Martin appears to be struggling. The team has vowed to get Blount a little more involved, which will eat into Martin's carries, while D.J. Ware has taken up the third-down duties, limiting Martin's value in PPR leagues too. As long as the Bucs' running game can't get going, starting Martin is a risky proposition. Then again, he will get carries and any running back who gets a lot of carries can be worth starting. I'd steer away from him unless you have better options, though.

QB Josh Freeman - The Redskins secondary is awful, but the Bucs don't want to throw the ball much. Don't overthink this: Freeman hasn't been good in fantasy (or in real life) this year, so leave him out of your lineups - and off your rosters.

RB Legarrette Blount - The Bucs may have vowed to give him more touches, but more touches than three per game still isn't all that much.
