Pardon the bad joke and the non-Bucs news, but given his status as an ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneer, I thought it was note worthy to point out that Redskins player Tanard Jackson has allegedly been hit with a year suspension for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Nothing is official as far as I can tell, but this sounds legit. If it is true, it's another backwards (and sad) step for a once promising player.
At this point, you almost have to hope that someone steps in and does not allow football to be as much a part of his life until he straightens other things out. Give him a job as a player rep, give him a salary contingent on rehab programs or something, but it's clear his priorities are not straight.
As usual, we wish him well in his path to recovery, assuming this is all true.
