During yesterday's disastrous preseason game against the Tennessee Titans the Bucs didn't just lose in rather embarrassing fashion, they suffered one crucial injury as well. Legarrette Blount got the start over Doug Martin once again, but he didn't get to finish the game. Blount appeared to suffer a knee injury, but it turned out to be 'just' a groin injury. The injury is not believed to be serious, as noted by both
Blount and Greg Schiano.

It's not clear what exactly that means or how much time Blount is expected to miss. He will likely miss next week's preseason game, giving Doug Martin the chance to prove himself in an expanded role. If Blount isn't ready for the regular season, the Bucs may have a serious problem: the team does not have much quality depth behind Martin, and would have to rely on either Mossis Madu or Michael Smith to spell Martin. For now, that doesn't appear to be necessary.
