The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered few injuries during their preseason game against the Miami Dolphins, but there are a few injury updates to note. Most notably, Mark Barron was held out of the game with what has now turned into a nagging toe injury. While the Bucs expect him to be ready for next week's game, this is certainly something to keep an eye on. Dallas Clark didn't play, but that was by design - though no one knows what design. With Barron out, Cody Grimm was the starting strong safety, although he didn't look particularly good in that role.
There was one major injury, to tackle Mike VanderMeulen. He underwent an MRI on his left leg today to determine the extent of the injury. VanderMeulen is a third-string tackle, so losing him shouldn't be a problem for the Bucs, but it does eat into depth with Donald Penn's injury. For VanderMeulen, though, any injury makes it nearly impossible for him to make the team as it is.
