At least one of three injuries suffered today on the first day of Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp has turned out to be pretty serious: wide receiver Arrelious Benn has sprained his MCL and will miss four weeks, per Pro Football Talk. That's a blow for the competition at wide receiver, although Benn wasn't expected to play a huge role this season. He should be ready for the regular season, but missing four weeks of training camp and preseason action won't help him get acclimated to the new playbook. The other two players to suffer injuries today were linebacker Mason Foster and cornerback E.J. Biggers, it's not clear how serious those injuries are.
Meanwhile, the Bucs added another player to their roster by claiming cornerback Desmond Marrow off of waivers. Marrow is an undrafted rookie out of Toledo and spent most of the offseason with the Houston Texans. He is likely nothing more than a camp body. In further news, the Washington Redskins have claimed WR Dezmon Briscoe, reuniting him with Raheem Morris, who is the defensive backs coach in Washington.
