Pro Football talk is reporting that the Los Angeles County Distric Attorney has decided to drop all charges against Eric Wright relating to his DUI arrest last week. Wright was involved in a fender bender and admitted to the officers arriving on the scene that he had imbibed some alcoholic beverages earlier in the day. Wright refused the initial roadside breathalyzer test (as some attorneys recommend doing).

Wright has now been vindicated and should be be able to move forward with no issues revolving around the arrest. It's unfortunate that some bloggers and media outlets jumped to conclusions regarding Wright's guilt simply because he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

It's unclear whether Wright passed the mandatory alcohol screening back at the police station after being arrested, or if the prosecution felt that the officers didn't have the initial probable cause to arrest Wright in the first place. Either way, it's a good day for Buccaneer fans.

Wright's attorney, Jeremy I. Lessem, issued the following statement:

"On July 1, my client Eric Wright was involved in a car accident in Los Angeles and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Today, I am pleased to announce that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has reviewed the facts and decided not to file any charges. Therefore, no charges at all will be filed against Eric. Eric is glad this is behind him and is eager to begin training camp at the end of the month."
