2012 Undrafted Free Agent Signings: Buccaneers add 14, not Jordan Jefferson

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed 14 undrafted free agents, as they round out their rookie class. The Bucs are expected to add a few more players after hosting a number of players for tryouts this weekend during the rookie mini-camp. These undrafted free agents add to a pretty strong 2012 draft class for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Although rumors suggested the Bucs had signed LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson, he's not among the announced signings. Another player not among the signings: Toledo WR Eric Page, who backed out of a contract with the Bucs and signed with the Denver Broncos instead.

Among the undrafted players signed by the Buccaneers so far, CB Leonard Johnson and C/G Chaz Hine stand out. Leonard Johnson is said to be a tough cornerback who would be a good fit for a Cover 2 scheme, while Chaz Hine is a somewhat famous local player for the USF Bulls, who started out as a walk-on.

The Buccaneers seemingly focused on offensive linemen and defensive backs, signing four linemen and three defensive backs. Interestingly, only one Rutgers player was signed, despite Schiano's connections there: T Desmond Wynn.
