2012 Bucs Draft Picks: Tampa Bay Selects Drake Dunsmore In The Seventh Round

With their final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected Northwestern fullback/tight end Drake Dunsmore. At 6'2" and 240 lbs, Dunsmore is a big man who would likely fit in the Bucs' offense as a tight end or H-back rather than a straight lead-blocker. Expect him to be used in a similar way to the New York Giants' fullbacks and tight ends.

Other than that, I don't have much on this big man. Apparently they called his position 'superback' at Northwestern, which is interesting. He ran a 4.64 second 40-yard dash, so he can run down the field. He could develop into a quality tight end, although he's most likely to simply provide some competition in camp.

With that the NFL draft is open, but the day isn't over yet. Undrafted free agency starts now, which means we'll have two hours or so of frantic calls and reports on who the Bucs and other teams have added to their roster to fill out the roster. Hang with us, as we'll have all the news for you.
