In Mel Kiper's latest (and final) 2012 NFL mock draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select offensive tackle Matt Kalil. It's an option we've seen come up repeatedly the last few weeks, as it's becoming more and more likely that Morris Claiborne and Trent Richardson are off the board by the time the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get to make their first-round pick. This what Kiper had to say about the selection:
If the board falls this way, I can also see the Bucs working the phones to get out of this spot. Kalil really would be a nice addition for this team, but the Bucs could shop the pick to a team in more desperate need of a top tackle.
This pick should not come as a surprise, but the Bucs are likely to look toward trading down if this scenario is likely to happen. If not, we've seen rumors of linebacker Luke Kuechly, too. Just a few hours until the draft, when all our questions will be answered. What do you think of Matt Kalil as a Buc?
UPDATE: And Mel Kiper updates his mock draft - this time, the Vikings take Kalil, the Browns take Blackmon, and the Bucs get Richardson.
