After announcing their defensive coaching staff and their offensive coaching staff earlier this month, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially completed their coaching staff with five new coaches. Today they announced the additions of Bob Ligashesky as the special teams coordinator, Jay Butler as the strength and conditioning coach, Phil Galiano as the assistant special teams coach and Joe Vaughn as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. In addition, the team hired Kevin MacConnell to serve as the Bucs director of football operations.
Interestingly, the Bucs have not announced the hiring of former Rutgers graduate assistant Andrew Janocko, who had reportedly joined the staff as well.
Bob Ligashesky, Special Teams Coordinator: Experience as special teams coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Phil Galiano, Assistant Special Teams Coach: Galiano was Rutgers' tight ends coach and defensive line coach in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Served as FIU defensive coordinator in 2007 and 2008.
Jay Butler, Strength and Conditioning Coach: Served as Rutgers sterngth and conditioning coach for the past 11 seasons, previously worked for Dartmouth College and East Carolina.
Joe Vaughn, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach: Spent the past five seasons as Kansas assistant strength and conditioning coach, worked for Oklahoma in the same role.
Kevin MacConnell, Director of Football Operations: Spent the past 25 years with Rutgers in various administrative roles, most recently as the deputy director of athletics.
