According to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now going to interview current North Carolina offensive coordinator John Shoop for their offensive coordinator position. The coaching search goes on and on and on, and new names keep popping up. Will Shoop decline to join the Bucs, too?
Aside from serving as the offensive coordinator for the North Carolina Tar Heels until this year, Shoop has spent his entire coaching career in the NFL. From 2001 through 2003 he was the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator. He has been with the Bucs before, as he was Tampa Bay's quarterbacks coach in 2004.
In addition to this interview, Fox Sports reports the Bucs have hired Jimmy Raye II as a "senior offensive assistant", whatever that me. Raye was most recently the offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers under Mike Singletary. He was also the Buccaneers offensive coordinator in 1985 and 1986.
