The Tampa Bay Buccaneers failed to reach the 85% of non-premium seats sold and will be blacked out within a 75 mile radius of the Tampa Bay area this Sunday. In practice, this means that anyone within approximately a 125 mile radius will not be able to see the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Diego Chargers locally on TV, as any signal reaching the blackout zone will have its entire signal blacked out.
Reports earlier in the week indicated that the Bucs had 9,000 still available for Sunday's contest. Unfortunately, they did not reach the threshold by Thursday's deadline.
This is the third game to be blacked out this season, after contests against the Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins and Kansas Chiefs failed to reach the 85% mark. The week seven matchup with the New Orleans Saints did manage to produce a sellout, but it appears that that will remain the only sellout for now.
