Buccaneers place Cody Grimm, Jeremy Trueblood on Injured Reserve; claim David Gilreath

Cody Grimm's season has ended due to a hamstring injury originally suffered in week nine against the Oakland Raiders, while Trueblood's injury was not revealed by the Buccaneers suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday. Tampa Bay has been forced to place ten players on injured reserve this season, and that's not including Anthony Gaitor, who was designated for return and has been practicing with the team.

The Bucs claimed wide receiver David Gilreath off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers to fill one of three open roster spots, as they still had an opening due to Eric Wright's suspension. Gilreath was an undrafted rookie in 2011 and has spent time with several teams in the past two years. At 5'10", 169 lb. he's diminutive and has mostly been used as a returner. The Bucs' punt and kickoff returns have been abysmal this season, so perhaps he could give them a boost.

This is Cody Grimm's third season-ending injury in three years, and the safety just can't seem to stay healthy. He was a decent safety in his rookie season, but hasn't looked like the same player since suffering from injury issues. Grimm is listed as the only backup behind Mark Barron at strong safety, so he has a good shot at returning next season.

For Jeremy Trueblood, this may have been his last season in Tampa Bay. The veteran right tackle's contract expires after the season, and he lost his starting spot to Demar Dotson early in the season. Dotson has performed very well since then, and unless Trueblood wants to return at a massive discount the Bucs are likely to move on from the former second-round pick.

Finally, the Buccaneers signed undrafted rookie safety Sean Baker to the practice squad, releasing guard Chris Scott. Bucs fans will remember Baker for picking of two passes in this season's final preseason game against the Washington Redskins.
