The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will go into Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons mostly healthy. Backup safety Cody Grimm will miss the game, and cornerback Eric Wright is unlikely to play as he's listed as questionable. Wright has struggled with an Achilles injury throughout most of this season and has had to leave the past few games early after aggravating the injury. Wright missed two days of practice this week, but did manage to participate in Friday's practice.
If Wright can't go, the Buccaneers will be forced to start E.J. Biggers and undrafted rookie Leonard Johnson at cornerback against perhaps the best receiving tandem in the league in the form of Roddy White and Julio Jones. Fortunately for the Bucs and unfortunately for Jones, the receiver is struggling with an ankle injury and could miss Sunday's game after being limited in practice throughout the week.
In addition, the Atlanta Falcons could be missing cornerback Asante Samuel and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, two crucial defenders for a struggling unit. Without Weatherspoon and Samuel, the Falcons' pass and run defense become much more vulnerable, and Tampa Bay's explosive offense could exploit those shortcomings.
