Sammie Stroughter opened yesterday's game with a bang. On the first kickoff return opportunity the Bucs got, he ran for 78 yards to the Lions' 21-yard line to give the Bucs their first field goal. Unfortunately that was also his last play for the day, and even a few weeks now. Stroughter will have surgery on his foot tomorrow, and according to Morris that will keep him out for several weeks.
That certainly hurts the Bucs' passing game, as Stroughter was the Bucs' slot specialist. Preston Parker stepped up in Stroughter's absence and looked like a capable replacement, though.
As for Brian Price, he is listed as day-to-day after tweaking his hamstring. The big man is returning from major offseason surgery with two re-attached hamstrings, but he got on the field early and often yesterday. In fact, Price looked pretty good for someone still coming back from surgery.
Those were the only injuries suffered in yesterday's game. Freeman left the game midway through the game because of cramping, but returned after being re-hydrated.
