According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Aqib Talib will not be suspended by the NFL in 2011. This comes on the heels of a report that Aqib Talib would be suspended four games. However, it seems like Roger Goodell has decided to wait with punishing Aqib Talib until the legal process has finished.
Note that this does not mean Aqib Talib will never be suspended. In fact, it seems very unlikely that Aqib Talib will not miss games at some point. It simply means that Goodell has decided to wait with any suspension for now.
Aqib Talib has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon for an incident in his hometown of Dallas, Texas and will face trial in March of 2012.
Aqib Talib will be a crucial part of the Bucs defense, especially early in the season. The Buccaneers will face Calvin Johnson, Percy Harvin, Roddy White and Reggie Wayne in the first four weeks of the season. They would have a tough time stopping these players without Aqib Talib.
