Bucs sign CB Ashton Youboty, release TE Jose Cruz

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed cornerback Ashton Youtube Yo Booty Youboty, a sixth-year cornerback who spent the past five years with the Buffalo Bills, barely getting on the field. He has 7 career starts in five yeras, a total of 60 tackles, 7 passes defensed and 1 interception. Yobouty was a third-round draft pick for the Bills in 2006 NFL Draft.

Surprisingly, the Bucs actually wrote an in-depth story on the cornerback, who seems to have been added as a camp body with Aqib Talib's, Myron Lewis' and Ahmad Black's injuries. Apparently, Youboty was born in Liberia and played college football at Ohio State. Youboty's career has been inauspicious so far, and with a slew of young cornerbacks the Bucs like already on the roster it seems unlikely he makes the team.

This marks the third signing of an unrestricted free agent in three days. Apparently the Bucs aren't seeing a lot of young players they like on the market, now giving slightly older veterans a chance.

To make room on the roster for Ashton Youboty, the Bucs released tight end Jose Cruz. With Luke Stocker returning from injury, the Bucs have no need for Cruz, who was signed to fill the injury gap after Stocker went down early in training camp.
