The Top 10 Draft Busts in Buccaneers History - #2

We get to the second-worst draft pick in Buccaneers history, and it's pretty similar to yesterday's pick. It just happened 16 years later. In 2008 the Bucs were looking for a speedy wide receiver and had targeted DeSean Jackson. Unfortunately, the Eagles selected him before the Buccaneers got a chance, and they traded back in the second round to select another speedy receiver called 'Jackson' - Dexter Jackson. Dexter Jackson was supposed to be an electrifying player. What he actually was, was a player who was afraid of contact and couldn't play in the NFL, or at any professional level for that matter.

Dexter Jackson never started a game. In fact, he only appeared in 7 games catching a grand total of 0 passes. He did manage to return a number of kicks, but as a contact-shy player that really didn't get him very far either. And when he fumbled the ball, that signaled the end of his on-field NFL career. To make matters worse for him, the player who replaced him actually was named an All-Pro as a returner: Clifton Smith. Jackson wouldn't appear in a regular season again, and when he was released by the Bucs the next offseason he wouldn't appear on a roster again either. Dexter Jackson was selected in the second round, but he lasted only a year in the NFL. That's a really bad bust.

The list so far:

10. Rod Jones

9. Reidel Anthony

8. Gaines Adams

7. Eric Curry

6. Keith McCants

5. Charles McRae

4. Booker Reese

3. Brett Moritz

2. Dexter Jackson
