This week's Game Ball goes to Dezmon Briscoe. On a day when the offense struggled to get anything done Dezmon Briscoe stepped up, catching six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. The second-year wideout was targeted ten times. Four of his six catches went for first downs or a touchdown. Briscoe consistently found a way to get open, and finally produced a game worthy of his playing time.
Briscoe had been absent from the game plan until last Sunday, catching just 10 passes for 123 yards. That despite the fact that he is on the field in almost every passing situation, alongside Preston Parker, Mike Williams, Kellen Winslow and Earnest Graham. A few weeks ago I wondered why Briscoe was on the field on third downs instead of the explosive and more productive Arrelious Benn. Sunday's game showed me why: he can be a productive receiver in this offense, and he was the Bucs' main offensive weapon on Sunday.
