The Buccaneers wasted no time following the end of yesterday's Day 3 of the draft, signing former Ole Miss QB Jevan Snead to a free agent contract. In the past 24+ hours, that list has grown substantially. To date, the Buccaneers have reportedly signed 13 undrafted free agents to contracts, per NEPatriotsDraft.com. You can check out the site for the undrafted free agents signed by all 32 teams, but here's who the Buccaneers have inked so far:
Hunter Lawrence, K, Texas
Brandon Gillbeaux, DE, Delaware
Jevan Snead, QB, Ole Miss
Rico McCoy, LB, Tennessee
Sergio Render, OG, Virginia Tech
Ryan Reeves, LB, Wayne State
Preston Parker, WR, North Alabama/Florida St.
Jared Zwilling, C, Purdue
Derek Hardman, OT, Eastern Kentucky
Jeron Mastrud, TE, Kansas St.
Jamar Bryant, WR, East Carolina
Abdul Kuyateh, OG, Louisville
Torrey Davis, DL, Jacksonville State
Most of these signings fill a need and a few are rather intriguing. Lawrence, a 2009 semi-finalist for the Lou Groza award, kicked the game-winning field goal in the Big-12 title game, sending the joyous Longhorns to the national championship game. Sergio Render earned back-to-back second team all-acc honors and has good size for a guard at 6-3, 313 lbs. Former Seminole Preston Parker boasts a laundry list of legal troubles, but has a ton of ability and has a legitimate chance to make the roster...... if he pushes himself to the max this offseason. Rico McCoy was arguably the best linebacker on the Tennessee roster the past two years and is a pure tackling machine. He's got a good chance to make the roster as a special teams player.
What do you think of this crop? Let's hear it....
