Bucs quarterback Jeff Garcia has missed seven straight days of training camp (Calf Injury), Gruden will hold Garcia out of the teams preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins…. - PewterReport.com

Along with QB Jeff Garcia, FB B.J. Askew (ankle) and WR Joey Galloway (groin) will not travel to Miami with the team. - PewterReport.com

TE Ben Troupe (undisclosed), RB Kenneth Darby (undisclosed) and CB Sammy Davis (hip) were held out of Thursday's practice. Darby and Troupe are expected to play Saturday. - PewterReport.com

Gruden is expected to play QB Luke McCown the entire 1st half Saturday, while Brian Griese is expected to follow him up, with Simms maybe and maybe not getting reps. Rookie QB Josh Johnson is not expected to log any reps against the Dolphins. - PewterReport.com

Don’t feel sorry for Josh he’s expected to log minutes against the Patriots, per Head Coach Jon Gruden: "Yeah, we feel like we'll let him go up against the 18-0 Patriots. I give Josh a hard time. My alma mater, the Dayton Flyers, beat Josh Johnson last year, so since Dayton beat him we're going to give him a shot at the Patriots. That's a good opening for Josh." - PewterReport.com

No word on DT Jovan Haye and whether he will log any game time minutes

I think the most intriguing aspect of Saturday's Pre-Season Opener against the Dolphins (outside of Luke and Josh McCown facing off, eh) is the Receiving/Returning Corps and what they can produce. We've got DJax, Paris Warren, Clifton Smith, Michael Spurlock, Mike Clayton, Maurice Stovall, and Antonio Bryant... Thats a ton of competition. Hopefully the Return team is able to return a few unlike last Pre-Season.
