Get to know the Saints: Thanks to Sunil from Canal Street Chronicles

I was recently asked our New Orleans Saints Blogger, Sunil, from Canal Street Chronicles, a few questions about his New Orleans Saints .... here are my questions and his responses:

JScott:
I'm not going to pretend like I watched the game this past Thursday. I live with two chics and they dominated the T.V. I do know however that Drew Brees registered (1) point in my BucEm Fantasy League. So do tell Sunil, do the Saints suck that bad (or) was it just a case of the Colts doing what they do to everyone in the league (which is win)? Basically what team will Bucs Fans see Sunday?

Sunil:
Good question, I think it's on the mind of every Saints fan this weekend. Indy's defense played the Saints as well as any defense has over the past two seasons, but a big part of what made that game such a blowout was the fact that the Colts' offense got such a large lead that the Saints were basically forced to be one-dimensional. The Saints haven't been great against the Tampa 2 defenses, so there's reason to believe that the game will be close. But the Bucs offense will have to play a flawless game to see last week's Saints. Otherwise, the Saints' level of play will probably be closer to that of last season.

JScott:
Baby Matrix, do you think Reggie Bush will ever become a consistent Marshall Faulk type back or is he the type of guy that will at times amaze you, but its in short bursts and can never be expected of on a regular basis. What type of career do you see him having?

Sunil:
He's going to revolutionize the game. That, or he may be indicative of a revolution within the game, I'm not really sure. Guys like Marshall, LT and Steven Jackson are running backs who catch the ball very well, but usually play out of the backfield. Reggie is a combination of a running back and receiver. There aren't many players who serve as their team's second running back and third receiver, but that's basically Reggie's role. Is he ever going to be Marshall Faulk? Doubtful. But he's sort of the extreme version of a pass-catching running back, if that makes sense.

JScott:
With WR Joey Galloway being our only offensive weapon outside of a banged up Cadillac Williams, Do the Saints possess a shut-down corner that will turn Sunday afternoon into nightmare city for QB Jeff Garcia and Bucs Fans alike?

Sunil:
If he is on the roster, he is probably Mike McKenzie, although I would match Jason David against Galloway. David is the quicker of the two, so I would want him on Galloway, to neutralize the speed disparity. But McKenzie is probably the better man-to-man coverage guy. So, I guess the answer is that Galloway will probably see some combination of both. But honestly, David Boston is the guy I'm worried about.

JScott:
Your defense is a relative unknown for me. Who should Buc Fans fear and prepare hex's for?

Sunil:
Gary Gibbs, the defensive coordinator. Gibbs did a phenomenal job of coaching last year's unit; he coaxed late-season resurgences from Mike McKenzie, Jason Craft, Hollis Thomas and Scott Fujita. He got a half-season of functionality from Fred Thomas. The Saints' defense only has one true star, Will Smith, but somehow they seem to get more than their fair share of stops.

JScott:
With LOUD MOUTH and VOCAL LEADER Joe Horn gone to ATL, who has stepped up as the Saints Big Talker or Vocal Leader?

Sunil:
Drew McAllibush and Charles Grant.

I can't stand DB Mike McKenzie, its not by any fault of his own, its because he dominated for such a long time with the Packers. He had a knack for the ball, he will be trouble this afternoon.

Question to the Readers .... Do you like this feature? Asking the opposing Competition about their Squad? We've done it a few times here at Buc'Em with no responses .... Thats pretty much how all of my posts go, but I was just curious if anyone out there cares!? By the way, if you do like the feature and feel like I didnt cover anything, I encourage you to submit questions to me and i'll have them answered by the competition.

BIG GAME TODAY ..... Hopefully we can come out and pass protect, secure the ball running, and STAY HEALTHY
