In the NFL, the biggest Games are decided by the smallest details. Here's what I would suggest as the weekends most defining moment...
Which team would you pick to win with the following statistics? .....
Team A | Team B |
First Downs 27 |
First Downs 17 |
Rushing Yards 124 |
Rushing Yards 147 |
Passing Yards 298 |
Passing Yards 131 |
Total Yards 472 |
Total Yards 278 |
Time of Possession 35:50 |
Time of Possession 24:10 |
Clearly Team A is the team you would most likely choose to win the ball game. Unfortunately for us Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans, those stats did NOT provide us a win this past Sunday.
Sunday's Game Defining Moment (Brought to you by Samsung) occurred in the 4th Quarter, when QB Jeff Garcia fumbled a snap on the Detroit Lions 2 yard line with 12 minutes to go in the game, while being down only 9 points. A touchdown there would have brought us within a field goal with plenty of time to play. Neither the Blocked Punt or the fumbled handoff to RB Earnest Graham in the first quarter would have done this team in.
The saddest part about the botched exchange between our QB and Center is that it happened throughout the Pre-Season. I guess its only inevitable that it would come back to haunt us in the Regular Season. I don't know whats worse: Chris Simms' batted passes at the Line of Scrimmage or Garcia's Center exchanges....
