The pre-draft hype is always fun, but it's getting a little out of hand this year. Not that that's surprising, but it seems that the best quarterback class in ages has been overtaken after just a single year. Mike Silver now thinks Jared Goff is "the best quarterback to come out since Andrew Luck" while Rand Getlin cites multiple sources that told him both Wentz and Goff graded out higher than Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston, at least for some teams.
Been told multiple times that Carson Wentz and Jared Goff graded out higher for a number of teams than Mariota and Winston did last year.

This is somewhat ludicrous. While Winston and Mariota were by no means perfect prospects, they were very good quarterbacks and arguably the second- and third-best prospects to enter the draft in about a decade, behind Andrew Luck. Wentz and Goff are nice prospects, but they're nowhere close to either player. But that's the pre-draft hype machine for you.
I hope a lot of teams do think those players are better than both WInston and Mariota, though. In fact, I hope all eight top teams think a bunch of quarterbacks are better. Because every top eight team that takes a quarterback helps push very good non-quarterbacks down to where the Bucs can select them.
