Top 10 Mock with and without trades

The big day is almost here, the draft is just around the corner. Most people have made up their minds about the draft positions of the top players of this years draft class. Players have been rising and falling over the last few weeks as perceptions of their abilities changed.

I have also changed my opinion on how the draft would turn out, but finally feel quite good about it. Let me start off by stating that I never believed that the Texans would draft Clowney at number one, I had them taking a QB in all previous mocks but have changed my opinion on that. I was also never on board with the Evans to Tampa pick; while it might fill a huge void, I think the Bucs will trade out of their draft slot and draft a QB.

In this fanpost I decided to only focus on the top 10, simply because it is most relevant to the Bucs and everything after 10 becomes too much of a guessing game. I also decided to do 2 versions, one with and one without likely trades.

So let's do this:

No trades:

1. Texans: Mack

Houston questions the work ethic and scheme fit of Clowney. They believe Mack is the better fit for their football team, they would have loved to trade down but could not find a partner. Houston furthermore believes to be able to land a game-managing QB in the second round.

2. Rams: Robinson

They believe that Robinson is the best Tackle prospect in this draft and need some help up front. They don't like the value of picking a QB here and are willing to give Bradford another chance.

3. Jaguars: Clowney

The Jags are happy to pick Clowney and hope that he will energize their defense immediately. Watkins and Manziel are also strongly considered here but Clowney's value is too big to pass up on for Jacksonville.

4. Browns: Watkins

They are happy to pair Watkins with Gordon to get one of the most dynamic WR combos in the game. They will wait to land a QB with their second 1st round pick.

5. Raiders: Evans

The Raiders are reportedly not after any of the top QBs and will look to upgrade their WR corps with a big and physical wideout in Evans. He fits what the Raiders like to do and has that Raider attitude.

6. Falcons: Mathews

They need help up front and are glad to see Mathews fall in their lap. Mack and Clowney would have also been seriously considered had they fallen.

7. Bucs: Manziel

The Bucs are looking for a QB with their first round pick. They believe that Manziel is a franchise QB, they love his mobility and believe that his dedication will allow him to become great. OL and WR can be found later in the draft.

8. Vikings: Bortles

The Vikings are in need of a new signal caller and believe that Bortles will be able to fill that role.

9. Bills: Donald

Donald is arguably the best DT in this year's draft class and the Bills will try to bulk up on their DL.

10. Lions: Barr

The Lions like Barr's pass rushing ability. A CB is also very likely.

Trades:

1. Falcons: Clowney (trade with Texans)

Some team will trade up to number 1 to pick Clowney. The Falcons are in need of a superb pass rusher and are willing to make the move here.

2. Rams: Robinson

3. Jaguars: Manziel

With Clowney off the board, the Jags select Manziel as they believe he can provide some exitement for their fanbase and hope he can turn around their franchise.

4. Browns: Watkins

5. Raiders: Evans

6. Texans: Mack (trade with Falcons)

The Texans are happy to be able to trade down and still get their guy. Mack could well be gone by this point which would make Houston take Watkins, Mathews or a QB.

7. Steelers: Mathews (trade with Bucs)

Some team will take the chance to trade up for Mathews, possibly the Steelers. A trade up for Bortles, Lewan or Barr could also be possible.

8. Vikings: Bortles

9. Bills: Donald

10. Lions: Barr

15. Bucs: Carr

The Bucs traded down to get a few extra picks and still land their desired QB in Carr. Carr fits the scheme, he already has connections to Tedford and will be able to take his time and adapt to the NFL. He is a really good fit for the Bucs. In case Carr is gone by the time the Bucs pick again, they will probably go with Beckham or Cooks.

Tell me what you think guys. I know there are a few picks in here that don't go well with public opinion but the draft never turns out the way everyone thinks it will anyways.
