You may look at the Bucs offensive line and sees the weak link for Tampa Bay. I see the unit as a possible strength.
The average speed of an offensive lineman is around 5.24* in the 40-yard dash. Out of our new additions on the offensive line, we have a 4.92, 5.03, 5.11, 5.25, and a 5.54. Only one of those lineman has a bad forty time.
I think we now know what Tedford means by speed in space. Aligning perfectly with the signing of Sims, screen passes this year will be a huge threat in the Bucs passing game. Add in our great run-blocking receivers, Jackson and Evans, and you have a threatening perimeter run game as well. Expect plenty of pulling lineman pancaking defensive ends and outside linebackers.
I'm not a fan of rollout plays, but this opens up the option to do so with McCown's speed. I see an ideal scenario when McCown gets mobile and finds one of our 3 ballers one on one in coverage downfield, throwing up a back-shoulder or jump ball pass down the sideline.
This line could be considered weak by many, but I think Tedford will have them lead the way to a winning season for our Slamma Bay Dunkaneers.
*Best average I could find with some Google searching.
