2014 Bucs Offense

After this weekends draft, The Bucs improved their offence a lot by adding Mike Evans, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Charles Sims, Robert Herron and Brett Smith. Lets look at how they might lineup this September.

Offensive Line

Left Tackle-Collins: Signed as a FA to protect the blind side

Left Guard-Nicks: For now im going to put Nicks here since there hasn't been any news on his injury. 5th rd pick Kadeem Edwards would likely be backup.

Center-Evan Deitrich-Smith: Brought in as a FA, smart center and solid vetran for O-Line.

Right Guard-Oniel Cousins: Heard and read a lot of good things about Cousins, think he might emerge as the starter over Meredith.

Right Tackle-Demar Dotson: Improved a lot last season, looking forward to seeing him this season.

Starter-Luke McCown:Brought in as the short term starter

2nd String-Mike Glennon: Started week 4, Lovie says he is the QB of the future but I dont buy it at all.

3rd string-Brett Smith: UDFA, love his game personally and can see him being the teams 2nd QB in this offence.

Running Backs

Starter-Doug Martin: 1st rd pick, injured most of last season but true #1 back

2nd string-Charles Sims: 3rd round pick, love his game and will be perfect for this offence. Good back up for Martin and 3rd down back.

3rd string-Mike James: 6th round pick, solid pass blocker/ back up to Martin and sims

4th string-Jeff Demps: Speeeeed!

Full Back-Lonnie Pryor

Wide Recievers

#1-Vincent Jackson: Perfect #1 and mentor for this recieving corps

#2-Mike Evans: 7th overal pick this year, a lot like Jackson and will give Bucs two 6'5 recievers...scary

#3/Slot-Tommy Streeter: Brought in as a FA, very fast and has great size as well (6'5). Robert Herron also has a strong chance to win this spot. Demps will likely see some action here as well.

#4-Chris Owusu: Solid speed and returner.

Tight Ends

Starter-Austin Seferian-Jenkins: 2nd round pick. Great size and hands will be a big redzone target.

#2-Brandon Myers: Brought in as a FA and will be a good mentor for ASJ.

#3-Tim Wright: Had a surprising year last year and will be fun to watch line up along ASJ.

#4-Luke Stocker/Tom Crabtree: I only see one of the two making the team.

Look for a lot of two tight end sets with just one running back in the redzone. Having Jackson, Evans, ASJ and Myers or Wright on the field at the same time is just scary. Add Sims in the back field with his solid hands and the offence will be dynamic. Running the ball will be fun for Martin this season seeing how last year teams were mainly focused on him, they will be stressing the pass game before the run. Guys like Herron and Demps will be used to distract defences and cause mismatches with their speed. Anyone else excited for this season?
