If Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is still available in the third round when the Buccaneers are on the clock, would you want to draft him?

Pretty self explanatory fan post here, but also it's something I think Licht should definitely pull the trigger on if that guy is still there by then. As we all probably know, we have some serious depth problems in the secondary, and it's been a problem arguably since Jermaine Phillips was moved to linebacker (man what a stupid idea that was looking back in retrospect though his off-field problems didn't exactly help his cause either) and Tanard Jackson decided to smoke up some weed.

So that leads me to this Ifo guy, for whom one of his main negatives brought up by scouts have apparently been his small height at 5 feet 9 inches or something like that. Well, the Bucs have had success finding guys whom were undersized at their position in the past, namely Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, and Lavonte David. And the other thing is that the slot cornerback position for the Bucs really needs an upgrade, probably more so than any other position on the defensive side of the ball. Seriously, try and make an argument that any other position needs an upgrade more than the slot corner position, I just can't see it, especially when Leonard Johnson & Isaiah Frey are the two slot guys we have on the 53 man roster currently.

Remember, Lovie specifically made the slot corner position separate from the regular cornerback position, in that Larry Marmie teaches the slot corners (Leonard Johnson) and Gill Byrd is in charge of the regular corners (ATV, Johnthan Banks). And now, news is out that Ifo suffered a torn ACL in practice in the month of December. Before this ACL tear, mock drafts had him going between mid 1st round to early 2nd round. I'd imagine now that he won't be able to participate in the Senior Bowl, Scouting Combine, nor the college day workouts, his draft stock is sure to slide to some extent. The only other prospect that was being discussed as the best cornerback to my knowledge was Marcus Peters, though he had off-field problems that led to his dismissal at Washington. Now, the Bucs will likely address other positions with their first two draft picks (namely offensive line & quarterback), but with a high 3rd round pick, there is a realistic chance that Ifo will still be on the board when Licht has to make his decision, and I think he should take the chance on this guy. Yeah, he'll probably have to essentially redshirt his rookie year in the NFL, though he could go the Charles Sims route and return later in the 2015 season depending on his rehab, but I'd say get this guy.
