My pet peeve about people who say tanking works in the NBA...

I don't think I've seen anyone mention this in their comments (if you did, I apologize) but I think it's a point that needs to be brought up. In the NBA, it's a lot easier for one person to make a difference than it is in the NFL.

First off let's look at the starting line up. NBA players play offense and defense (sometimes. I'm talking about you James Harden) and their starting players are five players as opposed to eleven / twenty two in the NFL. I'm not a big stats guy but if you were to evenly divide a player's contribution while playing, each NBA player accounts for 20% of the team while on the court while the NFL is 4.5% or 9%. Not to mention the roster size is drastically different. The NBA fields thirteen total players while the NFL has a maximum of 53 players. The numbers are a huge difference! It's a lot easier for one guy to carry twelve people compared to carrying 52 people.

Also another thing I think worthwhile mentioning is the draft rounds. The NBA only has two rounds compared to the NFL's seven. 60 players get drafted in the NBA as opposed to 250ish players in the NFL.

That's it. I'm done. Thanks for reading.
