The playoffs are hot and ready and I know this isn't a Tampa post but....WHO CARES. I'm asking whoever wants to participate in the playoff picks to comment below for each week and I will tally everyone's number of correct predictions and whoever wins, wins NOTHING. Just for fun. This week the match ups in the wild-card round include...
Kansas City @ Indianapolis. This game looks to be defensive, although KC found their offensive stride late they still seem hard to consistently rely on. Now I know they have beaten quality teams it's just I find myself feeling they don't have enough offensive talent around Jamaal Charles to go deep this year. That being said their defense is stout and Indy isn't to reliable themselves winning games when they need to, but losing to teams they are meant to beat. if you look at each teams record against playoff teams you'll see the difference... Kansas City is 1-5 against playoff teams while Indianapolis is 4-2. My prediction- 24-19 Indianapolis.
New Orleans @ Philadelphia. As the game before this one seems to be a defensive battle this game is looking to be an offensive explosion! The Eagles high flying offense look to take to the sky for Chip Kelly's first playoff game as a NFL head coach. While the Saints look to bounce back where the once were the Superbowl to hoist their second Lombardi trophy. Philadelphia is extremely inexperienced when it comes to the playoffs while most of the Saints team has been there once or twice. I look for the main difference this game to be Drew Brees. Brees is the experienced veteran who will show he knows what he's doing. Nick Foles is very talented it's just too much for the inexperienced quarterback this early in his career. My prediction- 35-20 Saints.
San Diego @ Cincinnati. This game seems to be the most intriguing out of the wild card rounds... San Diego limped into the playoffs getting all the help they could get and winning a controversial OT game against the Chiefs to make it in. While on the other side Cincinnati shows flashes of greatness but constantly reminds us that they have not won a playoff game since 1990. That is twenty-two seasons since a playoff win...Cincy wants to show they're the real deal while San Diego wants to prove they are better than their record. This game boils down to one thing. TALENT. Cincinnati is just too talented for this mediocre Chargers team. My prediction- 31-14 Bengals.
San Francisco @ Green Bay. The game that wraps up the wild-card weekend is probably the best. Two experienced teams, both have played each-other here before. Last year the NFC divisional championship pitted these two teams together in an amazing game. Will we see a 49ers repeat or will Rodgers continue to amaze us. I think we will see a repeat, here's why. Confidence. That's right confidence. San Francisco gained their "swagger" back after they finished out the season 6-0 and showed us why they are so good. While Green Bay was always wondering if they were going to win each game, granted they didn't have Rodgers they still almost lost to the Falcons and the Cowboys. They are not a playoff team. We killed the Falcons with Glennon for gods sake. My prediction- 24-16 49ers.
