Ah the Toilet Bowl Season is among us and what better way to experience it by reading these recaps. There were four playoff games this week and boy were they good lets kick it off.

Tampa Bay VS. Atlanta- To start off the wild card action the fifth seed Atlanta traveled to NFC South divisional foe Tampa Bay under new coach Lovie Smith in conquest for the Greg Schiano trophy. Early on in this game Atlanta found success passing, but Tampa's defense always seemed to stiffen in the Redzone as Atlanta was up 6-0 early. After forcing a fumble on the driving Falcons team Mike Glennon hit Vincent Jackson for a twenty yard strike to take a 7-6 lead late in the second quarter. After a pair of three and outs and a Matt Ryan interception it was halftime 7-6 Bucs. Picking up early in the third quarter the Falcons were driving yet again but a sack forced the drive to stall by a blitzing Gholdson, Bryant hit another field goal to take a 9-7 lead. Heading into the fourth Tampa forced another fumble. Unable to do anything both offenses sputtered early. Then Bobby Rainey provided a spark scampering for thirty yards he set up the Bucs in field goal range with just one minute left on the clock! Lindell hit it to take a 10-9 lead with only thirty seconds left. On the first play of the drive Matty ice chokes and throws a pick to Lavonte David. Its all but over as Rainey scores a twenty yarder as time expires. Final- 16-9 Tampa Advances. Player of the game was Rainey with 24 carries for 147 yards and one touchdown.

Minnesota Vs. Washington- In the second game of NFC wild card action two previous playoff teams found themselves in the Toilet bowl this year facing off! RGIII would suit up for this crucial game though and he performed well. Early in the first quarter Washington is gashing yards off on each play as RGIII hooks up with Santana Moss on a twenty-three yard touchdown! After a pair of three and outs the Vikings are driving with the ball with the running combo of Gerhart and Peterson. Gerhart rips off a thirty yarder! Now first and goal AP trucks up the middle to plow to the promise land! 7-7. At the start of the second quarter Griffin can't seem to get a completion as they go three and out. The Vikings too go three and out. After another Redskins three and out Patterson is back to return the punt as he finds a seam he gets to the Redskins 38. Next thing you know Peterson is pounding up the middle again for a short touchdown! 14-7 Vikings. After another Washington three and out Matt Asiata the third string running-back rips off a forty-three yarder. This sets up Ponder for a five yard touchdown pass. 21-7 Vikings. With just two minutes left in the half RGIII seems to be in sync again ripping off 15-20 yard passes, then he hooks up with Moss again for a thirty yard strike 21-14 at the half! The third quarter was plagued by three and outs! No team even crossed midfield. So picking up in the fourth Washington starts off on their own 30. RGIII is again hitting his throws for big chunks of yards, In the redzone he gets flushed out of the pocket, he makes one guy miss...dives for the pylon touchdown!!! 21-21. All knotted up here Ponder is picked off by London Fletcher on the first play of the ensuing drive! The Redskins now milk some clock running the ball. In the redzone RGIII hits Hankerson on a slant in the endzone with two minutes left. 28-21 Redskins. Whats this Ponder is accurate this drive hitting huge passes! Third and goal Ponder is flushed and hits Patterson for the touchdown tie game and were headed to OT. On the first play of OT Peterson takes it around the edge for a 76 yard Touchdown!!! 34-28 Vikings Final. Player of the Game AP only 3 carries 82 yards and three touchdowns. Mnwvr5b_medium
