The title sounds like a joke. The Bucs offense is so bad
We have only played four games this far. And yes, stats are for losers. But we are losers - and it is amazing just how bad our offense has been.
The Bucs are averaging 11 points per game, and 278 yards per game. This is good for next to last: only the completely hopeless Jags are worse. In fact, the Bucs are one of the two teams in the NFL that average less then 300 yards a game. The third worst scoring offense is the Giants - they score over 4 points a game more than the Bucs. The third worst offense if measured by yards per game is the St Louis Rams, who average 27 more yards per game than the Bucs.
But it gets worse. The Bucs average of 11 points per game is 4.6 points per a game less than the worst offensive team in 2012. It is worse than the worst scoring offense in 2011 by 1.1 points. In fact, the last team to average fewer points a game than the Bucs are this year is the 2009 St Louis Rams. Only 1 team in 2012 averaged less yards than the Bucs are averaging this year. Only 1 team in 2011 averaged fewer yards per game than the Bucs have gained this year.
How about our QB play? Well, Freeman had a QB rating of 59, and Glennon clocks in at 55. How bad is this? Remember Mark Sanchez? Mark Sanchez was absolutely awful with the Jets last year. Mark Sanchez had a QB rating in 2012 of 63 - better than both Freeman and Glennon. In fact, both Freeman and Glennon have a lower rating than the clueless Brady Quinn had last year.
The thing is, even these numbers are misleading. The defense owns 1 TD of its own, which means the offense is actually averaging 9.25 points a game.
Really, these numbers should get someone fired.
