Matt Ryan’s Jr/Sr College stats – 1080 att’s/651 comp’s (60.5%), 7449 yds passing (46 td’s/29 int’s)…
Mike Glennon’s Jr/Sr College stats – 1017 att’s/613 comp’s (60.5%), 7085 yds passing (62 td’s/29 int’s)
These numbers are very similar; most of Ryans total yrds from those 2 years (4507 yds passing) came his senior year while Glennon threw for 3054 yds his junior year and 4031 yds as a senior. I think Schiano is on to something here guys; Glennon’s no scrambler by any means but, he’s a good ol' fashion drop back passer/gunslinger (these receivers will love him) and he does give us the best chance to win period.
I think we got a steal with Mike Glennon in the 3rd rd; lets be honest, if the NFL wasn't so enamored with these zone read/scrambling QB’s nowadays Glennon could have easily been a 1st rd pick (he surely has the numbers). Of course it's still to early to tell but I think giving Glennon the nod was in the best interest of the team moving forward.
