Buccaneers trade Eric Wright to 49ers for 2014 draft pick

USA TODAY Sports

Eric Wright is now a former Buc after Tampa Bay traded him to the 49ers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired cornerback Eric Wright in the 2012 free agency period but just a year later and he's on his way out. The Bucs have traded Wright to the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced on Friday afternoon. The compensation in the trade is reportedly a conditional 2014 draft pick.

According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, the Bucs were planning to cut Wright had they not found a trade partner.
