Darrelle Revis Interview: Buccaneers cornerback could be ready for training camp

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik appeared on NFL Network yesterday (with a newly shaved head) to talk about Darrelle Revis and his progress in rehabilitating a torn ACL.

Mark Dominik said that he was "fully confident" that Darrelle Revis would be ready for week 1 against the New York Jets. "We're going to keep him at our pace, but the whole point is that he'll walk out to the first day of training camp, he'll have the pads on and he'll be ready hopefully for the Jets, Week 1. We're expecting that."

That's been the goal for the Buccaneers all along, but so far they had been less than definite on Darrelle Revis' possible participation in training camp. Revis has so far not been able to do any on-field work, being limited to the classroom. With the Bucs' defensive scheme likely revolving around Revis' ability to shut down an opposing wide receiver having him on the field for training camp will be crucial for the installation of the defense.

Judging by Dominik's comments, though, Revis will be ready to go by training camp.
