Of course, there's one small point here: Revis doesn't really have a say on whether this deal actually gets done. So his optimism or pessimism isn't really relevant, while Jets GM John Idzik's state of mind is. The question is simply whether the Bucs and Jets can come to terms on compensation they both find acceptable. The Bucs have reportedly offered next year's first-rounder and this year's second-rounder, and one would think that would get the deal done. So far, it isn't good enough -- but there's still plenty of time to get a deal done.
Given all the facts, I still think a deal is inevitable. We will likely see it happen right before the next real deadline: the draft. Yes, that's three more weeks of getting really really annoyed at rumors like this. Enjoy!
