Draft weekend is finally here! One of my favorite times of the year. Can you smell the optimism??
I just wanted to share my thoughts on what has happened so far, what the Bucs could do this weekend, and what we should all expect for 2013.
First, the draft. Look for the Bucs to trade back into the first round. And here's my prediction: They'll trade with the New England Patriots (No. 29) and maybe give them their Talib pick back.
DT, CB, TE. If they address those needs, then we're sitting pretty. If we grab Trufant or Ryan...I'd be happy.
Mark Dominik is the man!! I'm totally on board with the Revis trade. How can you not be? Darelle Revis at 75% is better than anyone the Bucs could have drafted at 13. And no guaranteed money?! Give Mr. Dominik a prize! Well done, sir.
And look at this: Goldson, Barron, Revis, Wright (and hopefully Barber). That's one of the best defensive backfields in the league. Honestly.
Dougie is getting Nicks and Joseph back. Free still has VJ and Williams. Clayborn and Bowers are healthy. I'm so excited!!!
The FA signings the past two years have put 4 Pro Bowlers on our team. Add that to last year's successful draft and you have a ton of talent on this team. No more excuses...for anyone! If the Bucs don't make the playoffs this year...it's a damn shame. I see them at least going 10-6...and winning the first playoff weekend. I'm a Freeman supporter. I have faith and I sincerely want him to succeed. Don't let me down, Free! Last chance buddy.
Anyway, those are just my random thoughts! Fire them cannons!!
