According to Jenna Laine, E.J. Biggers has signed with the Washington Redskins joining his former head coach Raheem Morris and former Buccaneers general manager Bruce Allen. The Redskins have made it a sport to collect former Buccaneers who played on some terrible teams. Dezmon Briscoe and Jeremy Trueblood are both on the roster, while Tanard Jackson was at one point signed by the Redskins before once again being suspended for a full season.
Losing Biggers isn't unexpected, but it does hurt with the Buccaneers' lack of depth at the cornerback position. Biggers had a decent season last year, perhaps the best of his career. He isn't quite as physical or aggressive in run support as the Bucs ideally want, but he's a decent cover corner who is usually in position but has trouble locating the football. He would have been a good third or fourth cornerback for the Bucs, who have yet to find even a fifth cornerback this offseason.
