Mock Off season Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2013 Edition
First Tings First…
Drop:
Eric Wright- Overrated, Over payed, Dropping him is a no-brainier despite CB being the biggest team weakness
Quincy Black- Black was finally putting up decent numbers early in 2012, but with his injury and questionable return, the Bucs would be wise to cut ties with him
Dallas Clark- Freeman relies a lot on his TE on third down, and Clark let him down too often with dropped passes or by being covered due to his lack of speed
Free Agent Signings:
Dashon Goldson, FS, San Francisco- He’s a hard-hitter and paired with Barron, the Bucs would own the most feared safety tandem in the league.
Martellus Bennett, TE, New York Giants- He wants to be on the same team as his brother and the Bucs need a TE. It’s a win-win situation.
Gosder Cherilus, RT, Detroit- An improvement from Dotson or Trueblood at RT
Cary Williams, CB, Baltimore- Better than any CB we have now
Brent Grimes, CB, Atlanta- Before his injury he was one of the best CB in the league.
Resign:
Michael Bennett- It’s hard to believe our pass rush could be worse, but if we don’t resign Bennett, it will.
Roy Miller- Depth at DT is non-existent. He needs to be resigned in case of injury.
LeGarette Blount- He’s inferior to the Muscle Hamster, but he’s still a value to the team. He’s a good change of pace back once the opposing defense gets beaten by Doug.
Ronde Barber- After his astonishing career, he is always welcome on the roster
Draft:
Round 1, Pick 18-20 (Trade Down for 4th round selection)
Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida- The lack of depth at DT is scary. Possibly the BPA between 18 and 20.
Trade second round and acquired fourth pick for Round 1, Pick 20-26
Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida St- He’s physical. He’s a ballhawk. He’s great in coverage. The Bucs can’t miss on this hot prospect.
Trade third and fourth round picks for 2nd round, 12-18
Khaseem Greene, OLB, Rutgers- He is eerily similar to Lavonte David. With two speed demon OLBs running all over the field, the Bucs will continue to have the best run defense in the league. He also is good at pressuring the opposing QB
Fourth Round, Pick 13
EJ Manuel, QB, Florida State- Decent backup who will push Freeman
Fifth Round
Dwayne Gratz, CB, UConn
Sixth Round
Marcus Davis, WR, Virginia Tech
Seventh Round
D.C. Jefferson, TE, Rutgers
