I've seen a lot of fans and professional media types call for the pushing of competition for Josh Freeman. I couldn't disagree more. I know I'm not a writer or a well known anything. I'm just a fan that's giving his observation. So take it with a grain of salt.
Josh Freeman has every tool you could ask for in a quarterback. He's got great arm strength, he's got great mobility, he's got a great work ethic. Josh Freeman does have two problems though. He has trouble with his mechanics which is caused by his second problem. His brain. When Freeman's brain isn't in the right place on the field. You can clearly see his mechanics go to the waste side. So how does he fix this? Well...
I look at Drew Brees. He has a sports psychologist. Do I really need to say more?
I would rather have Freeman worry about his brain and mechanics than worry about the guy that could replace him. Josh Freeman is not Kevin Kolb or Matt Cassel . Josh Freeman has the ability to be a force. Don't give him competition when that's not needed.
Freeman needs to relax and run the motions. I don't feel like competition is the answer. I feel that if Freeman can calm himself down aKa sports psychologist. He can truly be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise quarterback.
