The offseason is amongst us and many fans are throwing around their wish list of players to see playing in pewter and red next season. Often times these names are big FA (Welker, Byrd, Rodgers - Cromartie). They're all great players but will command hefty prices nor do we know if they were just "system" players. Here's my wishlist of possible additions I love to see play for us on Sundays. THey address needs and will come at a lower asking price possibly:
DE Michael Johnson - This Bengal is absolutely brimming with talent but consitency has been his downfall. Blessed with a 6-7 270lb frame, Johnson has the speed/acceraltion to close in on the QB immediately. Despite the physical he has only averaged nearly 6 sacks a season, though he did record 11.5 this past season. He's 26 and may be retained but nonetheless and very enticing prospect.
WR - Josh Cribbs - The 29 yr old WR/KR would provide a immediate boost to the return game while also providing Free with a experienced slot reciever to work the middle. His 215 build could withstand the punishment and though his career numbers recieving aren't awe-inspiring, remember with Jackson/Williams present he only needs to play Pips to the Glady Knight's.
OT
Sebastian Vollmer - C'mon whats not to like about a versatile lineman who can play either T position with ease? He is directly connected with keeping Brady upright and has tons of experience playing for a upper echleon NFL organization. He's very durable and is only 28.
TE
Dustin Keller - A very athletic TE with the ability to put up monster numbers and stretch the field if he has a good QB. He recorded 815 recieving yds in 2011 with a inconsistent Sanchez delivering him the ball. His season was cut short this year due to injury. Could make him a discount. 28 yrs old.
TE Jared Cook - the sleeper pick. Anyone who has watch Cook play sees a freakishly gifted TE who can easily get behind most LB's and challenge most S in the NFL. He is a outstanding reciever and a more than willing blocker which makes him even more intriguing. 6'5 248lbs and only 25 yrs old....whats not to like??? Well him and injuries are well acquainted sadly. This could greatly affect his asking price and reward could be a massive turnaround.
TE Delanie Walker - Wow I must really like TE huh? The backup to good ol'
Vernon Davis. Walker is a interesting prospect because he was clearly overshadowed by Davis but is very talented. His recieving skills/blocking slliks are equal as he was SF best blocking TE by far. He can still stretch the field with deceptive speed and nice hands.
Honorable Mention:
DT
Desmond Bryant - OAK
DT -
Terrance Knighton - JAG
DE -
Dwight Freeney - IND (On the wrong side of 30 but he could be a nice situational pass rusher for a yr or two. Played out of position past season. Teach other players new moves)
CB D.J Moore - CHI
So what do you guys think? Who would you like on the FA market?
